  1. I would suggest getting a Dyson vacuum cleaner. This is a bit more expensive, but well worth the extra money. It also comes with a strong warranty.

  2. Consumer Reports rates them in this order. Uprights: 1)Hoover windtunnel 2)hoover platinum 3) Kenmore progressive. The canister type: 1)Kenmore intuition 2) electrolux oxygen 3)Kenmore progressive. Hope this helps.

  3. Hi Hajolaj,

The best vacuum depends on your needs. Do you have bare floors? Tile? Carpeting? You need to select a machine that can do it all and is affordable.

Your best bet is to consult Consumer Reports, for ratings. They test vacuums on a regular basis, and compile reliability data too.

I have never gone wrong purchasing a machine they have recommended.

If you are not a subscriber, visit your local library and review back issues of the magazine.

Ask your friends and neighbors for advice and recommendations.

Go to the store and try the machine you are interested in, is it easy to maneuver? Is it self-propelled? How well do the accessories work?

What’s the warranty? Will the store exchange the vacuum if you are unhappy with it?

Once you have selected a model, jump on the internet and research the model’s price and look for consumer reviews and feedback.

If you do your homework, if am sure you will find the best vacuum for your needs.
