What's the best vacuum for pet hair?

We have a pitbull with short stiff hair that sheads–have flat & short pile area rugs and need a good suction vacuum to keep them hair free–have a windtunnel and doesn’t seem to do the job

  1. I bought the Eureka Boss SmartVac 4870GZ. Consumer Reports rated it a best buy 2 years in a row and I found it’s great for picking up pet hair. I have a hound mix and two cats that all shed pretty profusely. Best of all, it’s only about $140 at Walmart.

If you can get one with the PowerPaw attachment, even better. It’s good for removing pet hair from furniture. You can also buy the attachment separately, I had to go to Lowe’s to find it.

Only drawback, it’s a little heavy so it’s a pain to drag up and down stairs.

  2. Make sure you have a vacuum with a beater brush to lift up the fur. Short dog fur is tricky to get completely. I’ve two jack russells! It sticks everywhere!

  3. The Dyson Pet Vacuum by far. My kids love to vacuum now because it is incredible to see how much dog hair it is actually picking up. Amazingly, even vacuuming everyday.
It is very expensive but I feel so worth it.
