Not as pictured but works better than original agitator brush,
The brush I recieved is not plastic like the picture, but wood painted black. It’s much sturdier & better made than the roller I was replacing which is like the picture. My carpet looks great!

So glad I bought this for my 8-year old Hoover. I had read posts on the internet about self-propelled Hoovers no longer propelling and that this was the most likely fix (aside from the belt.) I had already replaced the belt, but nothing changed.
I also saw posts where Hoover repairmen claim the vacuum will need to be repaired in a major way for over $150, just to get the customer to trade in their vacuum for a new one.
Glad I did this simple repair/replacement of the roller brush before being suckered! My vacuum works like brand new, now. In fact, I had my family members try it out, and it pulled us all forward so quickly, it almost knocked us off of our feet. Suction is excellent again, too.
Sure hope I can remember that this is the problem in another 6+ years when the brush needs replaced again.
