What to look for when buying a Vacuum? I need one with better suction?

2

I am looking for a vacuum cleaner with extra good suction that doesn’t break the bank. I know the one thing to look for is high amp in the motor–but what else would I have to look for to get the best quality for my money? I looked at the Dyson but that one is too expensive. Then I looked at the WindTunnel(Hoover)–but there are so many different versions of the WindTunnel that I cannot figure out what to look for. I mean more money does not necessarily mean better suction and when I look at the description I just do not know what feature to look for. Can anyone help me with that? Thank you in advance.

  1. I agree with the Dyson being too expensive. I really don’t feel it’s justifiable. You’ve got to decide
on Canister or Upright for starters. Then, bagless or not. Hepa filters or not. If you’ve got really
bad allergies, your going to want the Hepa filters. If not, Consider the Hoovers and Sears Kenmore . I will never buy a bagless again for the simple fact that cleaning them out is a complete
mess and you wind up breathing in a lot of dust. Unless you really get it down to a science.
I use my air compressor to blast the filter but I also have a lot of woods near me to do this into.

Well, that’s my take on vacs. Hope it helps a bit.

  2. Try going to vacuum shops. Believe it or not, the wind-tunnel machines actually make a bigger mess than the other types. Locally, the vacuum store I went to had a deal on a good used Pansonic (sears) cannister type. It’s WONDERFUL!! Also, another good used one comes from Germany, the MIELE. THey are very expensive new, but more reasonable used. THe DYSON is outrageously priced, considering that they are made in Taiwan under cheap labor. ANother good choice is a SHOP VAC. They have better suction and many can be used wet or dry. Happy hunting!!
