seeds & little bits of food, bits of broken glass, etc.? (you get the idea). So you see, I need something durable.
I’m looking to spend around 0 give or take, but also considering a 9.87 Hoover Windtunnel, or maybe a 8.66 Infinity NV29 No loss of suction bagless upright.
And also looking at the ones for under 0.
I have a Eureka upright that just doesn’t cut it (only the hose sucks really well now and I can’t crawl around on the floor all day to use the hose! Replacing the filter didn’t make the rest of it work better).
We have: 6 birds & 3 long-haired people.
Is there anything that will brush or pick up the long hairs (that shorten the lifespan of the vacuum or clogs it) before they get sucked into the vacuum?
How long should I expect it to last without having to have it professionally repaired and maintained?
For that price range yo u are best off gong to vac shop or craigslist and finding an old KIRBY.. they last forever.
You can get a giant lint roller on a stick that picks up the stuff before you vacumn.. I sweep first for same reason to save wear and tear on the vacumn (and save on bags).
A carpet sweeper or swivel sweeper woudl still need maintence after lots of hair so don’t bother with those.
a shop vac maybe then ya just have to empty it in the trash
I am a big fan of the Eureka Optima. ~$80.
A vacuume under $100 is ussually a throw-away one.. they do not have long lives, expecially for pet owners.
I cant remember if we had the Dirt Devil Vision, or the Hoover Windtunnel.. whichever it was, it worked pretty good.. the filter queen ($$$) worked better tho.
Oreck – I have had one for 5 years and LOVE it! Great for pet hair. It is the only vacuum I have ever had that lasted this long and still did a great job!
dont buy a normal vacumer, but an industrial one of good quality, it pays off in the end belive me, the normal ones just break down from the hairs
and industrial vacumer will even be able to deal with water
