  1. Great, My Hoover Windtunnel Supreme plastic motor cover area is sealed. You can’t just pop the cover off like you do at 3:20. They obviously don’t want the owner working on it or getting to the motor because it is completely sealed. I will have to cut plastic to get to it which I don’t want to do because it will most likely create its own set of problems. I may just splice the cord wire right where it exits the plastic housing instead of attaching it to the motor.

  2. Thanks a bunch for posting! I have similar Hoover and I just recently vacuumed over the cord and stripped off about 3 inches the insulation. You saved me a ton of money from having to go to a shop or buy a new vacuum!

  3. I followed your instructions to a T. I changed the cord on a similar Hoover Windtunnel Model U5443-900. You were right on. Vaccum works great now. One thing i’ll stress is that you really need to have a needle nose plier to remove the wire from the back of the vaccum. Thank you so much you saved me a lot of money doing it myself.

  4. You did a great job and presentation was friendly and clear……..I just wish you had cleaned the brush compartment etc!

  5. i dont know if im to late but the cord you have should be fine i use old vacuum cord’s on my new vacuums and have had no problems.

  6. i have a tristar cxl canister. Can I just put any cord on it?(i have a cord from another vac that had 12 amps but this vacuum is only rated for 10.5) Does it matter? Please respond because soon I’m going to try it(my emergency vac is no good) and I really don’t want to get blown up!

  7. I have a tristar cxl and one of the wires will not stay in the wire nut. Do I have to buy a new one? And I had a vacuum cord from an old vacuum i no longer wanted can I just put that on it or do I have to buy a new cord too? Please respond asap(my emergency vac is no good!)

  8. For this vacuum model, yes, it is necessary to remove the belt, brush, filter and filter housing in order to access the motor assembly where the power cord terminals attach. Thanks for watching!

  9. @vacuumdude44 It will depend model to model. A 35 foot replacement power cord for this vacuum model is $18.33 before tax. Thanks for watching!

  10. Thanks guys for your video, that is the exact vacuum I needed my cord replaced on! Excellent instructions, I know i”ll be able to fix it on my own now. I’m going to your site to order the part now. Thanks again!
