Booger Bite need help to clarify doubt about: : Any Good Vacuum Brands for Hardwood floors?
My old vacuum‘s engine broke down and it was probably 4 years old
Now that i need a new vacuum, i’m guessing i should get the right one

My house mainly consists of hardwood floor and I was wondering if there are any specific vacuums that do the job nicely?

Maybe something you’ve used in the past?
Thank you

I would recommend a canister vacuum instead of an upright. The problem with an upright is that the suction opening is generic for both carpets and hard floors. But, a canister has a hose that allows more versatility as to what kind of attachment you use. And, the only good attachment for hardwood floors is about an 8-inch wide narrow slot attachment with a short-bristled brush at the opening (a standard hard flooring attachment that comes with most canister type vacuums). The last thing you want to use is some kind of hard plastic attachment and/or an attachment with a rotating brush or beater bar.

I have a Hoover Wind Tunnel canister vacuum and it came with a hard floor attachment that works great for less than $ 200 a few years back. You may also want to invest in a dust mop that’s made for hardwood floors. It’s about a 3-foot wide head on a swivel at the end of a 6-foot handle, with a fluffy cotton string pad on it. You just push this around in the same direction (going back and forth, but using the swivel to always have the pad going in the same direction) to push all of the dust and dirt around from one end of the floor to the other. Then, when the floor is completely dusted (always use it dry, with no sprays or anything), you shake out the mop head and vacuum up the material.

You can get a dust mop at any home improvement store for less than $ 20 in the cleaning products section. Also, with the swivel head, you can easily get underneath furniture and get into all kinds of small spaces, despite the size of the mop head. And, it’s a whole lot faster and easier than using the vacuum all the time.
