the spring slides on the shaft with the short leg resting on the oblong
plastic recess on the assembly, so that its pressing the wheel assembly
inwards, the long leg of the spring fits in the slot under the axle mount.
the idea is it keeps tension on the wheel assembly as you adjust the carpet
