Central Vac Power nozzles face off!

24

So I took a piece of scrap carpet out of my basement and filled it with crap ( sand, screaded paper, dryer lint fluff etc.) Set up some popular central vac power nozzles to see what ones work better. In this video I used A Eureka express power head that uses I believe a vibragroomer brushroll, A Smart power nozzle that has 2 brushes and 2 beater bars. A Hoover Windtunnel, A Filter Queen that has a chevron brush, And a Sears Kenmore Power Nozzle that has a Beater bar and 2 brushes. You’ll see the winner at the end.

  1. Where can I buy the Smart power nozzle? I was thinking of updating my central vacuum from a Hoover Quadraflex to a Hoover Windtunnel or PowerMax (I like the smaller size) , but after seeing this I’m starting to think differently.

  2. they don’t make that power nozzle anymore, i don’t even think smart central vacs even exist anymore. But the windtunnel power nozzles are great as well it did come in second. They also have great edge cleaning. The windtunnel is far better than the powermax pn. Going from the quadraflex would be like taking a step down

  3. The Quadraflex is a good nozzle but I thought the Windtunnel would be better. I assume if the Quadraflex performs better than the Windtunnel its is due to the beater bar. Would I eventually be better off keeping what I have?

  4. I like the windtunnel better than the quadraflex, it may not have a beater bar but it has a much better brushroll and really good airflow. The windtunnel technology causes like a torado around the brushroll and picks up much faster. Where the quadraflex and powerman power nozzles tend to push the debris to one side.

  5. I agree with you. That Smart PN definitely won that match! The Hoover was a close second. I’m curious though….which one cleaned the deepest? I’m assuming the Smart probably did.

  6. the hoover groomed the carpet better but unfortionately it has no airflo on the one foot on the otherside of the belt so that extention is basicaly useless. I think if it was L shaped it would do a better job. I must say it does have a very agressive brush so it does a great job of deep cleaning but is probably hard on the carpet. I still perfer it over the smart.

  7. Being the smart is a nice design it’s not made well. I often repair these because of a fall down the stairs. Bottom plate is plastic and snaps in. If your not careful you’ll crack it trying to remove it. The bright florencent light is nice. If you notice in the video the bottom housing is black because its been replaced. The motor broke free from the housing. It does also come with the bottom plate but I cracked it when I installed. (thank god the old bottom plate was ok haha)

  8. the smart power nozzel has the front air vents that allow air movement thus the dirt is removed. great headlight on it too ! ! ! great vid

  9. hmmm looks like to me that the FQ PN would come in a very close second. I noticed it picked up a lot on its first forward stroke.

  10. might look like it but it just kept spiting stuff out and when i went to put it away it left a pipe of sand behind.

  11. the smart is a cool nozzle. i like the eureka nozzles, infact im trying to find one so i can retrofit onto my filter queen. cool vid, ur vids are always informative.

  12. yah the windtunnel did a great job i expected it to win but it was a close second. and thanks for the complement

  13. where did you get 1 of those smart nozzles?? that thing works great and that light could blind!
