I’ve had a Hoover Windtunnel Canister for many years and it doesn’t seem to be cleaning that well anymore. I’d like to buy a new vacuum cleaner soon, but not sure which one to get. I think that my kids and I are allergic to dust. So I want something that really gets the dust and traps it.
There are no pets in the house. I also would like the vacuum windtunnel cleaner to have something for cleaning hard to reach areas, such as ceiling fans. Any suggestions? I’m considering Oreck for its light weight.
I just bought a Bissell Healthy Home vacuum this week and I’ totally thrilled with it! This is the one with the air tight HEPA filter and it gets 100% of things like pollen, mold spores, dirt, dust and 99.9% of pet dander.
Now it’s not light but it sure is solidly made! And despite it’s heft, it’s very easy to maneuver! The attachments are well designed and well made also! The wand is an extension wand and it is very easy to extend to get those high places. I live in an old home with 11′ ceilings and I have ceiling fans in nearly every room.
It’s bag-less, has a 5 year warranty and a life time belt on it. Lowe’s has it on sale right now so it’s $50. off also. I’m quite pleased with it and my vacuums get a lot of use because we do have a house full of pets. Our middle son was visiting last night and hardly sneezed. He’s got allergy issues with our cats (4 of ’em) and for a sweeper to make a difference for him in less than a week (I’ve run it at least 3 times), I’m sold!

electrolux is my favorite, if you have a lot of allergies maybe you check into a FILTRETE AIR FILTER by 3M for you furnace.
I’d go with Oreck. I’ve had Hoover vacuums and they have all broken down through the years or have been a pain because of having no bag. The Oreck is amazing it’s very light weight, it has a scent stick (so, when you vacuum it smells nice as you go), it might be a tad bit pricey but it is soooo worth it. It has a bag also which equals no more dust problems!!! Go with the Oreck you’ll love it. Oh, and when you buy an Oreck you get a 25 yr warrenty. Whenever something goes wrong on your vacuum it’s totally free when you get it fixed!
