  1. Invest in the best there is. Get a Dyson.
Best vacuum ever made, no joke. They’re expensive, but well worth it. I wouldn’t trade mine for 10 of any other vacuum in the world.

  2. Hoover WIndtunnel with the bag and the Sears version always rate at the top in consumer reports. They’re $ 300. For $ 150 you can get the Eureka Boss SuperVac was rated a best buy by consumer reports as well. For $ 70 is the Hoover Tempo which is the best “cheap” vac.

  3. Dyson is the way to go. Best vacuum I’ve owned, hands down.

Here’s a tip – buy it at Bed, Bath & Beyond, and use the 20% off coupon – that’s how we got ours. The coupon says Dyson is excluded, but it’s not.

  4. My wife has had a house cleaning business for 15 years and says the Kenmore is the best dollar value. The motor runs strong but the only thing that wears out is the electrical connection between the top handle and the pipe. When that happens, I buy a new pipe from Sears that comes with the connector and that fixes the problem for another year or two. Her’s has fallen down a flight of stairs and still runs strong.
