I’ve sold them for over 10 years and I would never own a Bissell..
The Hoover uses the same motor as it does in it’s powerful Windtunnel vacuum…Better suction than the Bissell.
Don’t buy the really cheap Hoover that doesn’t have the rotating brushes..Hoover made that to compete with the cheap Bissells and it doesn’t have the scrubbing power of it’s better made rotating head models..And buy from a company like Sears that will repair it for you if it breaks…Other companies don’t have service and you’ll have to ship it off to who knows where to get it fixed…
Hope I’ve helped.. 🙂

I forgot to mention..If you look at the Bissell, you’ll see that the dirty water and the clean water is in the same bucket…There’s a bladder that fills when you add the clean and then the dirty water comes in over and around the bladder…Almost impossible to clean..
The Hoover has a seperate tank for dirty and clean.

I would go with a Hover just becuase like u we had really old dog who pottied in the house time to time and soiled my carpet…..We had a bissel and it really didnt take up the stain as much as we wanted it too….SO we went out on a limb and bought a hover upright steam cleaner and it does really well on any carpet we have
